A small house. We carry one slab where another carries fifty. Sourced personally, cut by hand.
Stone has memory. Cut it slowly enough and it tells you what room it belongs in.
Pietra is small by intention. We carry one slab where another house carries fifty. Most of what we buy, we buy in person — in Carrara, on the Basque coast, in a small valley above Verona where the marble is the color of bruised fruit. Our cutters have been with us since the first room. They are listed by name on the back of every certificate.
We do not stock for trends. We stock for the rooms we would want to live in. If a piece does not move us, it does not move into the showroom. This makes us slow and occasionally maddening, and we apologize for both.
Inquiries are answered by hand within a week. Visits are by appointment, on Saturdays only.
